Oak Hills provides the opportunity for students who excel at Math
to have a chance to compete using their Mathematics skills!
Students get to participate in the Mathematical Olympiads
for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS).
They get the opportunity to problem solve and
strengthen their understanding of math concepts!
OHEF helps fund this after school math program by
paying for the MOEMS registration.
Schedule: Tuesdays 2:30pm-3:30pm in the Science Lab

Yesterday was our fifth and FINAL competition of the year.
We again had 57 students competing who did an amazing job
on what was considered the toughest competition of the year.
We had a total of 9 students receiving perfect scores!
The overall average for this competition was 2.7.
Here is the per-grade breakdown:
4th-Grade Average: 1.8
5th-Grade Average: 2.8
6th-Grade Average: 3.1

Yesterday was our penultimate competition.
With 57 students competing, we had another fantastic outing.
A total of 10 students received a perfect score!
The average was slightly off from last time but still an amazing 3.2!

6th-Grade Average: 3.5

This past Tuesday, the Math Olympiad team participated in their third competition of the year.
A total of 61 students competed, and we had some OUTSTANDING scores.
A whopping 15 students were correct on all five problems!
The overall average was our best yet, at 3.4 correct.
Here is the per-grade breakdown:
4th-Grade Average: 2.2
5th-Grade Average: 2.3
6th-Grade Average: 3.8

Our students participated in their first official Math Olympiad competition!
A total of 58 students competed.
The overall average was 2.9 problems correct out of 5.
One student got all 5 correct!
And 14 students got 4 out of 5 correct!
The per-grade breakdown was as follows:
4th-Grade Average: 1.9
5th-Grade Average: 2.4
6th-Grade Average: 3.2
